8.4 Final Score SMOK Majesty Kit Review Bottom Line SMOK release many mods over the year, but the Majesty kit is different! Gone are the flashy light displays and designs and in comes an easy to use, a reliable mod that not only matches the performance of their popular Alien Mod, but with the upgraded user interface, surpasses it! If your looking for a new mod kit, the Majesty mod paired with the popular TFV8 X-Baby Beast tank is a kit that performs really well and produces the best vapor clouds that money can buy! |
Smok are well known for releasing a number of kits to the market and known to produce some of the best vape mods around, it seems like every week there’s a new SMOK mod to review! To this point, all SMOK mods are similar, utilizing the same chipset and just making an odd change, there are a few exceptions, like the SMOK Priv 2 for example, where it’s a completely new and outstanding upgrade. The question is; is the new SMOK Majesty an outstanding upgrade or just another Alien modification. In this review, you will find out!
SMOK seems to have stripped back to the essentials with the Majesty mod. Gone are all the RGB lighting and fancy designs and in comes a big 1″ OLED screen with a resin design body. They have kept the huge side firing button, which is really a good thing as we love that, and similar to the Alien kit they have the 2 buttons of the front to enable wattage change and other varies menu changes.
As usual, SMOK don’t just give you one or two color choices, oh no, there are lots and lots to choose from over 6 different designs on release, and no doubt this will grow as they release new colors!
I suppose the design is very similar to the SMOK Alien kit, but they seem to have squared everything up a little, making it a little more retro looking.
Powers from 6W to 225W from 2 external 18650 batteries with 0.05 to 3.0-ohm resistance range, which covers just about every coil combination you can possibly vape. On the temperature front, it ranges from 200 to 600 degree Fahrenheit (100-315-degree Celcius) which is pretty standard for any box mod.
The user interface has apparently been upgraded too and yes when you turn this mod on it does look a little different with a new screen layout that does look better! You still have all the essential information you need like 2 battery indicators, watts, resistance, voltage etc, but you also have the SMOK logo, puff counter and which mode in the corners of the screen. Although that sounds like a lot of information to have on a 1″ screen, the actual design is really good, easy to read and looks the business!
In the menu section, by clicking 3 times, and again SMOK has changed things up a little, no a lot! Little icons to represent where in the menu you are, like coils or puff counter etc, all pretty cool. The menu navigation is still similar as before though, which is a good thing although it does take a little getting used to.
The SMOK Majesty release this mod as part of a kit, the kit includes:
All this for around $55 is pretty good, but check out our page dedicated to vape deals as this mod often comes up for sale at an even better price.
SMOK are one of the most reliable manufacturers when it comes to box mods, producing some of the best e-cigarette products on the market, they have been doing this for a long time, so we expect nothing but the decent performance from this unit! On the temperature control settings, we had no problems whatsoever, at around 400 degrees Fahrenheit there was no sign of any cotton burns, even with no eliquid on the coil!
On the wattage side, we were vaping Q2 0.4 ohms at 50W which is pretty middle of the road vaping, remember the more coils you have the higher the wattage you can go, as this is just 2 coils the maximum wattage for this coil is 80W. Having the air control at the top of the TFV8 X baby beast fully open, this thing vapes really well! Huge tasty clouds and it’s beautiful, which is exactly what we expect from the TFV8 X!
The similarities with the popular SMOK Alien kit are certainly there, but the new interface is nice and easy to use. The design is relatively basic, but for those who don’t like all the flashy lights or designs and just want a performance mod, this should be on your list of must-have mods. The big question, is it going to be as popular as their Alien kit which was released over a year ago? Well, it certainly has the potential, put it this way, if both were released at the same time the Majesty kit would win. As an owner of the Alien kit, the features are not too different to warrant an upgrade.
