Wotofo has teamed up again with Mike Vapes after the success of the ReCurve RDA Squonk tank and introduced a matching unregulated Squonk mod. Designed for comfort and usability, we have one major question; is the Recurve Squonk mod the best squonker on the market? The only way to find out is to test it!

Design

Wotofo and Mike Vapes have concentrated on the ergonomics, it is specifically designed and molded to feel really comfortable in your hand when vaping, and they have done an awesome job, one of the best box mods to hold without a doubt!

It can use either a single 18650, 20650, 20700 or 21700 battery with all the adaptors included in the kit and when the battery is in it has a bit of weight to it, weighing in at around 350g with a 20700, the Recurve RDA and a full bottle of e-liquid. This weight somehow gives it a sense of quality.

Wotofo is initially releasing the Recurve Squonk mod in five different colors which include black, white, red, blue and gunmetal, each with the same design. The mod is made of zinc alloy, but has this rubber coating around it, making it easy to grip and another plus in how it feels in your hand.

Measuring in at 60.5mm tall, 90.0mm wide and a depth of 27.0mm this is a pretty big mod, especially considering that it only operates with a single battery, but that said, that’s the trouble with all squonk mods, you lose the space of a battery with the e-liquid bottle.

The 510 thread at the top is really built to suit the Recurve RDA squonk tank, but you can fit any squonk tank you like, but anything over 27mm in diameter will create a little overhang.

Because of the molded like design, there is only one way to hold this in your hand, similar in what we saw with the SMOK Mag mod, this means your main index finger is to be used for the fire button which is positioned well at the top side of the mod. Below the fire button is the soft rubber bottle enabling easy squonking when needed with your 2 spare fingers.

Features

Well being an unregulated mod there’s really not much to talk about when considering its features apart from it powering at around 80W and support of coils from 0.08 to 3 ohm. In comparison to some of the best vaping products with a whole host of wattage, temperature, and light configurations. What we can say though is the host of safety features which include short circuits, low voltage damage, overheating, battery reversal, overcharging and over-discharging so the list is pretty good.

Performance

Although this mod is really built to suit the Recurve RDA squonk tank you can of course use any squonk tank on it, so if your not a fan of single coil RDA’s, no problem, just use whichever one suit you.

For our test, we are using the Recurve tank as we do like the performance and taste of the single coil RDAS. We were actually really impressed with the Recurve mod, and this might be how it feels and the weight of the mod.

Performance wise though it generates a pretty decent punch at 80W and about 4.2 volts and the responsiveness of the mod is right up there and perfect.

To Conclude

If you like your weighty mods with a beautiful feel and ergonomics then the Wotofo Recurve mod is perfect. Some may not like the one way you can hold it, but the way it feels in your hand overcomes that.

Supporting all battery types such as 18650, 20650, 20700, or 21700 is another plus, overall a great looking and feeling mod.
