In-Depth Review of the Smok X Priv Starter Kit
Yes, Smok has released another mod, this time a dual 18650 mod with up to 225W of power, but what’s so different I hear you cry? Well, it features a huge screen, making up the complete side of the mod, and comes with a new user interface, claiming to make it easier to use than any other mod on the market. But how good does all this make it? We take the new SMOK X-Priv 225W mod for a test drive and see how well it performs against the best mods on the market.
Design
Well, I have to say, I love the design of this mod, it is different to what SMOK usually try to achieve. It has a sense of class about it, with the glassy material they have used on the front along with the high definition 2” screen, you’re going to love it!
The kit comes with the TFV12 Prince tank like we have seen on their previous kits like the Smok Mag Kit and the Smok Stick Prince Vape pen, but matched with the X-Priv mod, it just seems like a marriage made in heaven!
As usual, Smok has released a whole load of colors to choose from, 7 in all to start with, but we pretty sure they will add some new ones in the coming months as they always usually do!
Features
You do get a lot of kit for the price to be honest:
- X-Priv Mod
- TFV12 Prince Tank
- 2 Coils (0.4-ohm Q4 and 0.12-ohm T10)
- Replacement Glass tank
- USB Cable, user manual and various spare parts
So as we said it is powered by dual 18650 batteries which are sold separately, but the mod features 3 modes that seem to be consistent with their latest mods.
- Temp Mode with 200 to 600 degree Fahrenheit Range and adjustable TCR as well as Preheat capability
- Watt Mode from 1 to 225W Power.
- Memory Mode so you can set your perfect power per second
The new chipset that SMOK use on the X Priv promises to make it easier to use than other mods and dare we say that it’s one of the easiest in comparison to all the best e-cigs on the market. To be honest with you along with their 2 menu buttons placed just below the screen and the huge firing button down one side, they have done a really good job here.
Performance
Well, we already knew this mod kit was going to perform really well as it features the latest and arguably one of the best sub ohm tanks on the market right now, the TFV12 Prince. Named as the 12th version of an already so popular tank it’s never going to disappoint no matter what mod you put it on.
That said the SMOK X Priv has the power to manage and get the most out of the tank, with the classy design and smallish features the kit just works and works really well!
To Conclude
The Smok X-Priv Starter kit along with the TFV12 Prince Tank is the latest and possibly the greatest kit set that Smok has released to date. Granted, if you stuck the tank on an old Alien Mod, or another dual battery mod it would be hard to tell the difference.
What we can say, is that the new memory mode and the responsiveness of the wattage mode are really good along with the nice user interface and the general good looks, make this mod one to look at if you fancy a bit of an upgrade. Keep an eye out in our best vapes page to see if this kit make it to the top!
