In-depth MotiVape Moti Vape Pod Review
MotiVape has now joined the race in competing for the best vape pod with the release of their Moti Pod system which features both an open (refillable pods) or closed pod (prefilled with 5% nicotine salts, 50/50 PG/VG e-liquid). It obvious why they are releasing it with all the hype currently around pod systems, but how does this brand compete with the best on the market? Let’s take a closer look to see.

Design
MotiVape certainly care about the design of the Moti Pod, producing a sleek looking device in multiple colors which include yellow, red, green, white, black, blue, rainbow, brown, grey and pink, although they name them completely differently like Robins Egg for green and bright Lemon for yellow!
It's been designed specifically to carry around with you with dimensions of just 115mm tall, 20mm wide and 10mm in depth, so this thing will easily fit in your pocket without you even realizing it's there.
It comes with a 500 mAh battery, which is pretty small, but considering the size of this unit and it being a low wattage device is absolutely fine.
Everything is included in the starter kit, except e-liquid, this means there's no need to buy any additional vaping products.

Features
The whole idea behind vape pods is that they are simple to use, and the Moti Pod is certainly that especially if you get the prefilled pods. It features an automatic airflow sensor to turn the device on and off when you take a puff, so simply charge with the supplied USB cable and your ready to start vaping!
MotiVape has also included safety features within the circuitry of the Moti Pod which include an automatic cut-off if the device in on for greater than 10 seconds, along with short circuit protection and low voltage, low resistance, and overheat protection which is great and should help avoid any unnecessary accidents.
There is also an LED within the main battery area so the user can see when the battery needs recharging.

The Pods
The pods within the Moti device fall into place and held there thanks to the magnetic connections. Overall they have a nice, quality feel about them. Each pod holds 1.8ml of e-liquid and have an easy to access refill slot by removing the rubber stopper under the mouthpiece, which has 2 fill ports, one to fill and one to allow the air to escape.
Remember to always leave the pod for 10 minutes after filling, to allow the cotton within the device to become saturated. If you don't you may run the risk of burning the cotton and ruining that pod!
What's nice about these pods, which is a little different to others in its class is they use a ceramic honeycomb coil with a resistance of around 1.2-1.5-ohm. This honeycomb coil is designed to maximize the flavor of the e-liquid.
The coils should last between 600-850 puffs until the coil (or pod) needs replacing. This is designed pretty much in line with the battery as a full charge also should last between the same.

Performance
With most pod systems there is no wattage control, no airflow control and no other setting to adjust. The Moti Pod is no different, but luckily they seem to have got a lot of things right!
The airflow is nice, just about right for a low wattage device, along with the activeness of the auto-draw is quite sensitive, so you don't have to puff too hard on it!
Using an open pod, we used a 50/50 PG/VG e-liquid with a relatively strong flavor (15% strawberry) and 5mg nicotine (not salts). The flavor delivery was actually pretty good for a pod system, creating a relatively cool vape with a nice little cloud.
Granted, it's not going to compete with the likes of the best sub-ohm tanks, but in its class, it does a really good job!

TL;DR
The MotiVape Moti Pod is one of the best vape pods on the market thanks to the flavor production from the honeycomb ceramic coil designed specifically for this device. It is a low wattage device, so don't expect it to compete with RDAs, RTAs, or sub-ohm tanks, that said, for a device to carry around with you without even knowing it's there, it's perfect!
The prefilled and refillable pods are a great feature that we like to see, and the airflow is set just about right, along with a sensitive auto-draw feature. All-in-all a great little pod system that will definitely suit new users and be satisfying for the more experienced vaper also.
