In-depth Review of the SMOK T PRIV 3 300W and TFV12 Prince Kit
Well without any delay Smok is quick to release a newer version of their T Priv family, this time it’s version 3 featuring a huge 300W mod and the TFV12 Prince tank. The mod uses three 18650 batteries to handle this power, so expect it to be a little larger than their previous models. So the burning question is, has this mod significantly improved or is it the same thing, just bigger and more powerful? Well, we take a close look at our review to see and compare it with all the other best vape mods out there.
Design
It does follow the same design as the previous T Priv kit with its hollow out design but has adopted a fatter body to house the 3 required batteries.
Make no mistake this is a big mod, coming in at 86mm tall, 57.23mm wide and 47mm depth, that’s without the tank, so this mod just about fits into your hand! Typically as well SMOK have released a few alternate colors with more to follow very soon.
The LED display is again on the top of the mod just like the previous version, and the body has cutouts where you can control the color, length of time they light for etc all via the settings menu.
The TFV12 Prince Tank
The T PRIV 3 kit has the full-size TFV12 Prince tank which has a huge 8ml of capacity although if you’re unlucky enough to live in the EU, then following the TPD legislation you will only be able to get the smaller 2ml version. This is a great upgrade from the original T Priv kit that had the 5ml TFV8 big baby tank, which is still a good tank, but as more power is used the more e-liquid you get through so great ideal increasing the capacity.
The kit also includes a couple of atomizer heads, the V12 Prince Q4 which is a 0.4-ohm quad coil head and pre-installed and the V12 Prince T10 which is 0.12-ohm ‘decuble’ coil head. Not forgetting the cobra drip tip which is a nice touch!
The airflow on this beast is controlled by 2 large adjustable slots at the base of the tank and provides more than enough air for the heaviest vapers out there. The tank also features a top-fill locking design as we see on all their latest tanks. The TFV12 has featured on a number of SMOK products before like the SMOK Mag Kit and the SMOK Stick Prince vape pen.
Performance
Well, there is no denying it, the SMOK T PRIV 3 kit really does perform well, thanks largely to the success of the TFV12 Prince tank. It really can handle the power that this mod can give leaving the vaper more than satisfied with both taste and vape volume.
If your not such a high wattage vaper, don’t think this mod isn’t for you. Because it utilizes 3x 18650 batteries, at lower wattages the battery life will beat any 2 battery mod, hands down.
Yes, the size is an issue, but for that, you get an extremely powerful and flavourful mod kit.
To Conclude
We really love Smok products, they have to be one of the best vaping product suppliers out there right now, but they seem to swamp the market with new versions of mods that they only release a few months back, so make sure the improvements or modifications suit what you want out of your mod.
As for the SMOK T PRIV 3, it doesn’t really have that many big changes in comparison to their initial SMOK T PRIV kit, but if you prefer the bigger design, higher power/longer battery life and the higher capacity tank holding 8ml vs 5ml then this mod might just take the edge.
At lower power at around 70-80W you won’t notice much difference with the vape, just improved battery life, which is after all pretty important. As for new vapers who are looking for the best e-cigs to quit smoking with, then this is probably not really for you.
