Vaporesso Target PM80 Pod Mod Kit Bottom Line

The new Vaporesso Target PM80 is more than impressive, the aesthetics on this pod mod are beautiful and makes you wonder if such a small device can produce a good vape. Short answer: It can, along with a beautiful flavor as well. Great for intermediate vapers and more experienced vapers who like direct lung inhale devices they can carry around with them.

In-depth Vaporesso Target PM80 Pod Mod Review

The industry seems to be launching these new e-cigarette devices which are a mix between a vape mod and pod vape, like the Vaporesso Vinci X we reviewed just recently, but we really like to think of them as AIO (all in one) devices. Nevertheless, one of the new Pod Mods to hit the market is the Vaporesso Target PM80, which promises to compete against the best in the market and satisfy even the most experienced vapers. Well there is only one way to find out, and that is for us to review it!

Design of the Vaporesso Target PM80

Design

One thing that you will notice straight out is the beautiful design, the Vaporesso Target PM80 is absolutely stunning and so small for an 80W device! Measuring in at just 102mm in length, 24.8mm wide and a depth of 33.4mm, you will understand what I mean.

Within the kit, you get the usual spares including; an instruction manual, USB charging cable, 2 coils (1 x 0.2ohm mesh 45-60w and a 0.3ohm mesh 32-45W), 2 pod tanks which hold 4ml of e-liquid, and the mod itself with a built-in battery.

There are a few different designs you can choose from, which include a Red, Green, blue, black, brown and silver, all having a marble-like style. That’s a lot of choices considering this is new to the market, so we don’t really expect any additions to this color set.

The TFT screen on the Vaporesso Target PM80 is also really nicely designed and pretty big at 0.96″. Displaying the battery life with a percentage score, the mode, the lock/unlock symbol, the current wattage, plus some useful information like the best wattage range for the current coil installed in the tank, the actual resistance of the coil, and a puff counter with timer. As you can tell, that’s a lot of information there, but it’s laid out very well and easy to read.

Above the screen is where the fire button sits, which is slightly protruded so easy to find, below the screen are the up and down buttons and to one side is the 2amp USB charging port.

This type of design has been picked up by other brands including SMOK, we take a look at SMOK’s version in our Smok RPM 80 Pro Vape Pod Review, spoiler alert: It’s even better!

Size and Features for the Vaporesso Target PM80

Features

One reason we like to call it an all-in-one-device, is because of the design of the tank, it is solid, there’s no air-flow control, no removal of the drip tip, and you insert the coil by simply pushing it in the base of the tank. It may upset some vapers, but it keeps the design of the pod mod looking sharp! One of the best vape pods as far as design is concerned!

The tank is held in place with 2 small magnets, which is relatively easy to remove. At the base of the tank is a rubber stopper where you fill with e-liquid.

The Vaporesso Target PM80 is capable of firing up to 80W with its internal 2000mAh battery, that said there is a safety feature built into the device, to stop you vaping at a higher wattage than the coil can handle. So for example, if you use the 0.2ohm coil, the Vaporesso Target PM80 will only allow you to choose a maximum wattage of 60W. Some might like this as it saves burning out your coils, where others who like a hotter vape than the average might find this slightly restrictive.

The Vaporesso Target PM80 uses the familiar 5 clicks on/off feature that we are all familiar with, along with the 3 click function to lock and unlock the device, but you can still fire the device. To get into the menu system you press the up and down button together. Here you can switch to smart mode, variable voltage mode, and variable wattage mode, along with resetting the puff counter and change the color theme. This device is using the Axon chipset.

Performance of the Vaporesso Target PM80

Performance

We’re starting the test with the 0.2ohm mesh coil, using variable wattage set at 45W. Note that we are using this as a direct lung inhale device, there are currently no coils to allow mouth to lung vaping.

The flavor of this device is really impressive, Vaporesso really know how to build a good coil! The vape is really smooth and creates plenty of vapor, and one thing we really notice is the responsiveness of the device, the Axon chipset performs really well and there appears to be little to no lag.

Switching to the 0.3ohm coil and using 35W created a cooler vape, but the flavor is still very good. We prefer the higher wattage coil, but there’s really not that much difference between the 2 concerning flavor.

Due to the size we were really concerned with the battery life, but thanks to the 2000mAh internal battery it performs very well. Battery life is dependant on wattage, how long you vape etc. But we can say it lasts pretty well, no real concerns.

Packaging on the Vaporesso Target PM80

Conclusion

We were actually really pleasantly surprised that such a small pod mod can produce so much vapor that also has a great taste. The lack of airflow control is a little disappointing and there is a slight resistance in the vaping. That said, we love it! Yes, those drawbacks may put some people off and it’s not going to compete with the dual battery vape mods with RDA’s, but for any average vaper who wants a decent direct lung vape, this is the device for you. Small enough to even forget it’s in your pocket, and ideal for those who are thinking about moving onto direct lung inhale vaping from mouth to lung.

The Vaporesso Target PM80 is overall a great vape kit that we were surprised with, great taste, great aesthetics, and great battery performance, just a shame about that airflow!
